"Meditation teaches you how to loosen your monkey-grip on your experience and create a kind of inner spaciousness and relaxation by letting go of control and allowing things to be the way they are."

Center's Description
The Buffalo Zen Dharma Community is a sitting group for Zen Buddhist practitioners in Buffalo, NY.

The weekly meetings of the BZDC provide space and time for people to engage with and deepen their sitting practice, as well as to broaden their understanding of Zen teachings, through dharma discourses from the teachers of Zen Mountain Monastery. It is a local manifestation of sangha, the community of practitioners that takes up the challenge of sitting together in a sustained way and supporting each other's efforts.

Our immediate goal is to provide an entry point into authentic Zen Buddhism, but our greater goal is to be of service to each other – as well as to the Buffalo community as a whole – physically, mentally, and spiritually.
