Independent Meditation Center Guide

""Karma," he [Buddha] often said, "is intention": i.e., a movement of the mind that occurs each time we think, speak, or act. By being mindful of this process, we come to understand how intentions lead to habitual patterns of behavior, which in turn affect the quality of our experience."
Stephen Batchelor, Buddhism Without Beliefs.

Center's Description
L.A. Dharma is a non-sectarian Buddhist organization that hosts meditation groups, classes, dharma study, and meditation retreats. Buddhist ethics, traditions, and practices inspire our activities.

The core of our vision is to build sangha, promote social change, reduce suffering, and develop innovative ways to share our work. We are part of the early Buddhist tradition that emphasizes meditation practices to develop insight and loving-kindness. To these ends, we collaborate with others who share our vision, in whole or in part. Our activities are open to persons of all faiths and traditions.
