"What we are doing is not reprogramming ourselves, but freeing ourselves from all programs, by seeing that they are empty of reality."

Center's Description
Still Water Sangha is a Buddhist practice community rooted in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Zen monk, teacher, scholar, author, poet and peacemaker. Our weekly practice consists of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and a program that may include a dharma talk, dharma discussion, sutra reading, ceremony, precepts ceremony, touching the earth, total relaxation, or tea ceremony.

The Sangha hosts bi-monthly days of mindfulness, a weekly children's program, and an annual retreat. Since 1999 many co-practioners have participated in weekly sangha gatherings, days of mindfulness, weekend retreats and Thich Nhat Hanh retreats held in California, Vermont, and in Plum Village, France.

Still Water Sangha meets every Sunday evening at 6:30 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1500 State Street in Santa Barbara. All are welcome; you don't have to be a Buddhist to practice with us.
