Center's Description
The Down East Dharma Society was established in January of 2002 to provide an atmosphere of support and inquiry for those who seek an understanding of the human condition at it's very core. We believe that through the practice of meditation and mindful living there arises the wisdom that enables one to face, with equanimity, the vicissitudes of life. The Down East Dharma Society welcomes all, regardless of race, creed, or religion, who truly desire freedom from suffering for all living beings.

The group meets primarily for meditation and discussion. We have no devotional service as I'm the only Buddhist in the group. We currently meet in a member's home every other Tuesday.

I hope to one day have a center here that can offer formal retreats but for now it is enough to have a place for those who desire freedom from suffering to meet with others with the same goal.

Sorry, no comments yet for this center.
