Center's Description
The Himalayan Tradition is an unbroken lineage that dates back over 5000 years. The saints and sages of the Himalayan Tradition dwelled mostly in the caves and monasteries of the Himalayan mountain ranges in northern India. The teachings of the tradition were preserved and passed down from teacher to student in an unbroken succession.

The Himalayan Tradition has its roots in Sri Vidya Tantra (non-ritualistic) and also encompasses all of the systems of yoga (Raja, Bhakti, Karma, Jnana). Advaita Vedanta, which asserts a non-dualistic Absolute reality is the system of philosophy practiced. The Upanishads, particularly the Mandukya Upanishad, are the central text. The Yoga Sutras are the foundation for the systematic path of yoga meditation.
