| Pasa Dharma is a small informal Soto style Zen Buddhist meditation group, meeting at the Neighborhood Church, in Pasadena CA. We are open to people of all spiritual traditions who would like to experience the life changing practice of meditation and awareness. We get together on Thursday nights for a brief discussion on aspects of Zen Buddhism, to sit zazen, and to share fellowship with other like minded people. Whether neophyte or experienced meditator, all are welcome to experience the dynamic stillness of Zen practice with us.
There is no cost for attending our class. During our meeting, we share a group reading, have some discussion, and sit two 18 minute periods of zazen, with a short bit of walking meditation between them. We would be more than happy to have you come out to visit and sit with us. We usually have about 15 people attend. The dress is casual, something loose and comfortable. We have plenty of cushions and chairs, but feel free to bring your own if you have a favorite. So, come on out and discuss your meditation practice, meet each other, and of course, just sit. If you have never sat silent concentration meditation (zazen), we strongly recommend that you RSVP and come for the beginner's instruction at 6:30pm, right before the regular 7:00pm meeting. |
