Kadampa Buddhism was first introduced to the west by Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in 1977. Geshe Kelsang is a renowned Buddhist scholar and author of 19 books on Buddhist thought and practice. He has established nearly 900 Kadampa centers throughout the world including Vajralama Buddhist Center. Olympia Mahayana Buddhist Center began in September 1999 and continues to offer weekly classes on Buddhist psychology, philosophy and meditation.
The classes at Olympia Mahayana Buddhist Center are taught by Kelsang Jindak, a western Buddhist nun. |
