Center's Description
The Great River Sangha was formed in 1994 by a group of Buddhists and interested people who wanted to create a support structure for those desiring to explore and practice Buddhism in the tri-state area (Illinois, Missouri and Iowa).

We are associated with the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order but encourage anyone interested from whatever tradition or complete beginners to join us.

We meet every Sunday morning for meditation from 9:00 to 10:30 in the loft at New Horizons on State street in Quincy, Illinois. Instruction is always available for beginners.

We also meet every Wednesday night, 1225 Maine St., Apt. #5 for book discussion from 6:30 to 8:00. In addition, we hold monthly day retreats near Monroe City.
