"Meditative discipline is vital to dharma practice precisely because it leads us beyond the realm of ideas to that of felt-experience,"

Center's Description
The Benevolent Street Zen sangha was begun in September, 2008, by Jan Seymour-Ford and James Ishmael Ford. We are the ninth sitting group of the Boundless Way Zen project, an emerging Western Zen community with lineage roots in the Japanese Soto and the Korean Linji traditions. Our style is broadly Soto with elements of the Japanese Rinzai and the Korean Chogye.

For a Zen sangha we are informal and try to be welcoming to both beginners and old hands. We hope all feel welcome to practice with us.

We meet on Monday evenings.

If you would like an orientation or basic instruction in zazen, Zen meditation, please arrive by six forty-five.

We begin at seven o'clock with a brief Buddhist liturgy.

For more information, please call Jan Seymour-Ford at 617.970.6826
