"To experience emptiness is to experience the shocking absence of what normally determines the sense of who you are and the kind of reality you inhabit."

Center's Description
The Shelburne Falls Shambhala Center is part of a wonderfully diverse community of 165 meditation centers founded by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and led by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

The Shambhala Buddhist path combines the teachings of the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Tibetan Buddhism with the Shambhala view of living an uplifted life, fully engaged with the world. We share a genuine connection to contemplative practice and the aspiration to realize a more wakeful, sane society.

Yet our Shelburne Falls Center is also different from the other larger Shambhala Meditation Centers: This beautiful small building overlooks a quaint New England hilltown. We are a small committed group of long time Shambhala students who practice together in the Center and who offer meditation programs. We also offer space for individual and group retreats combining the shrine room with the upstairs retreat apartment and the adjacent large apartment building and its generous common space for group activities.
