Center's Description
Crestone Mountain Zen Center is a Zen Buddhist Monastery and Retreat Center located in the mountains of southwest Colorado. CMZC offers residential Zen monastic practice and a variety of Zen programs. Day visitors are welcome to participate in the daily meditation schedule.

The Center welcomes guests, who may rent cabins and use the facilities for individual retreats. In August and September, the Center is open for group retreats, workshops and conferences.

Serving as the monastic practice center of Dharma Sangha, CMZC has affiliate centers in Boulder, Colorado and several countries in Europe.

CMZC was founded in 1988 by Zentatsu Baker Roshi, Dharma Heir of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. Some of CMZC’s land and several of its buildings, including the architecturally renowned Lindisfarne Dome, were donated by the Lindisfarne Association.
