| Dae Do Sah (pronounced "day" "dough" "sah") is an independent Zen meditation group that meets every week in Vienna, VA, and Rockville, MD. Our Guiding Teacher is Zen Master Dae Gak of Furnace Mountain. In addition to our weekly sitting groups, we also sponsor retreats several times a year. We are a small and somewhat informal group, and we have been in existence since the fall of 1998. Our "meditation halls" are really the living rooms of two of our founding members - Carol Kline and Curt Steinmetz.
Our Guiding Teacher, Zen Master Dae Gak, is a an American who has studied Zen in both the Japanese and Korean traditions. In 1994 he received Transmission from his teacher, the Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn. He is a clinical psychologist and the author of Going Beyond Buddha. He is the guiding teacher for several groups in the US and Europe, and has also led retreats in Australia and Korea. |
