"What we are doing is not reprogramming ourselves, but freeing ourselves from all programs, by seeing that they are empty of reality."

Center's Description
Mongkolteomunee Temple, or Wat Mongkoltepmunee, is a Thai Buddhist temple established in 1984. The temple has grown to be a rare gem in the region where a variety of Buddhist ceremonies and some Thai cultural programs are offered for everyone regardless of age, gender, religion, race, or nationality.

Mongkoltepmunee Temple is an extension of Wat Paknam Pasichareon, in Thailand. The vision of Phra Mongkoltepmunee, the late Abbot of Wat Paknam, was to internationally expand the teaching of his acquired meditation method to those who are unable to travel to Wat Paknam. This vision started becoming a reality in 1983 when the current Abbot, Somdej Phramaharachamangkalajarn, travelled to Pensylvania to meet with the local Thais and he had offered aids for the initial establishment of Mongkoltepmunee Temple. Phra Ratanamedhee, the first Abbot, was assigned to relocate from Wat Paknam to Wat Mongkoltepmunee in May of 1983.

Today, under the leadership of the present Abbot, Phra Videsdhammamongkol, Wat Mongkoltepmunee stands tall on Knights Road across from the Bensale township complex. The Ubosod (Ceremony Hall) is built in classical Thai architectural style and shines brightly reflecting its glittering gold decoration even though the construction is still incomplete. The final phase of construction will concentrate on the artistic refinement of both the exterior and interior decoration including Thai mural on the inner walls. After completion of the building, the next project will focus on developing the surrounding landscape into a garden of tranquility, suitable for peaceful relaxation and meditation practice.
