Independent Meditation Center Guide

""Karma," he [Buddha] often said, "is intention": i.e., a movement of the mind that occurs each time we think, speak, or act. By being mindful of this process, we come to understand how intentions lead to habitual patterns of behavior, which in turn affect the quality of our experience."
Stephen Batchelor, Buddhism Without Beliefs.

Center's Description
Meeting Tuesday 7 PM to 9 PM and Sunday 9 AM to 10:30 AM

We are a group of spiritual seekers following a Zen Buddhist path. We meet twice a week for a half-hour of Zazen meditation and a brief chanting service. Interested people of all faiths and traditions are welcome. Instruction in meditation is given to those who want it. There are no dues. On Sundays we often have coffee afterwards.

We have recently been working with two Zen Masters from the Great Mountain Zen Center in Lafayette, CO; Roshi Gerry Shishin Wick and Sensei Ilia Shinko Perez. They have traveled to the Black Hills twice in recent months to conduct intensive meditation retreats. More retreats are planned for the coming year. In addition, many of our group have attended retreats at the Great Mtn Zen Center. For more information about Great Mtn Zen Center go to www.gmzc.org.
