Center's Description
Welcome to the Dzogchen Center Cambridge

Through our root teacher, Lama Surya Das, his associate teacher, Lama John Makransky, and other authorized teachers, the Center provides the essential teachings and transmissions of the Dzogchen lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in forms appropriate for Western culture.

The Center provides:

  • Monday evening sittings, many taught by Lamas
  • Lama-led teaching of core Mahayana mind-training practices: tonglen and lojong (heart-mind training), and Lama-led teaching of Vajrayana (foundational) practice of Ngöndro
  • Day-long and other special teaching events
  • Opportunities for personal interviews with Lama John Makransky and Lama Surya Das
  • Participation in, and scholarships for, Dzogchen Center intensive retreats
  • Books, tapes, and other teachings and materials
  • Participation in Boston-area Buddhist organizations
  • Support (dana) for the work of our Lamas
  • A spirit of compassion and support for practitioners and all beings
