""Karma," he [Buddha] often said, "is intention": i.e., a movement of the mind that occurs each time we think, speak, or act. By being mindful of this process, we come to understand how intentions lead to habitual patterns of behavior, which in turn affect the quality of our experience."
Stephen Batchelor, Buddhism Without Beliefs.

Center's Description
Our sangha welcomes everyone from all backgrounds to come practice with us. If you are new to Zen, we offer Saturday morning introductory classes to acquaint you with zazen (Zen meditation). Our program is very broad in order to offer a range of possible times to sit so that we can accommodate as many schedules as possible. All of our teachers and students are happy to answer any questions. We encourage you to drop by and begin sitting with us. Please don't concern yourself with a lack of familiarity. Any so-called "mistakes" are a part of our practice. We learn in each moment.
