In 1974, His Holiness Jigdal Dagchen Sakya Rinpoche and the late beloved His Eminence Deshung Rinpoche founded a dharma center, Sakya Tegchen Choling in Seattle, as a means of preserving the invaluable Tibetan Buddhist heritage.
