Center's Description
The Diamond Way Buddhist Group of Yorkville, Illinois is part of an international network of nearly 500 meditation centers world wide, all in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Vajrayana Buddhism. Our centers were founded by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. They are currently under the spiritual guidance of the 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.

We offer broad access to the Buddha's highest methods for developing freedom and joy in every situation. These methods have been practiced in Tibet and India for centuries in an unbroken transmission lineage. Our style is fresh and free from confusing cultural baggage, stiffness or sentimentality. All of the people involved in the Diamond Way centers are lay practitioners, who participate in society and incorporate the teachings and meditation into daily life.
