Independent Meditation Center Guide

""Karma," he [Buddha] often said, "is intention": i.e., a movement of the mind that occurs each time we think, speak, or act. By being mindful of this process, we come to understand how intentions lead to habitual patterns of behavior, which in turn affect the quality of our experience."
Stephen Batchelor, Buddhism Without Beliefs.

Center's Description
Insight Meditation and Meditative Inquiry

In this group we will explore together the silence and open-heartedness that are available in each moment and the impediments to experiencing this. Each week we will meet for a 45 minute period of sitting meditation along with a brief talk and time for questions. Instructions will be available.

Please join us. It is an opportunity to start your week by touching silence and opening your heart.

Sundays 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m.) Beginning October 7.

Bring a blanket, pad or zabuton to cushion your legs as the floors are hard. You should also plan to bring your own sitting cushion/zafu or bench.
